Unclaimed Veteran Services - Project description:

Since 1992 patriots from the RNC Staff, RNC Support Committee and the Community have gathered to honor the 35 or so "Indigent or Unclaimed" Veterans who are interred each month at Riverside National Cemetery. They are homeless, indigent or have just lost touch with family and friends.

The Ceremony Their names are given... their rank, branch of Military service and era of service are acknowledged before those in attendance... the traditional Navy bell is rung after each name... the March ARB Honor Guard snaps to attention and the firing party honors these Veterans with the traditional 21 gun salute... the buglier fades in with taps... and finally the American flag is presented to an audience member... "On behalf of a Grateful Nation" for this Veteran's faithful service! Chaplain Norm Goodwin, CDR, USN (Ret) concludes the service with his ever comforting thoughts.

When: On the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a. m. Where: Shelter G, Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riveside, California 92518
